It’s About Life!!

In a moving collection of interviews by African Americans from around the world, the voices of the unheard are heard as they share words of wisdom and lessons learned in search of a better life style.  To move from one city to another or one neighborhood to a different one in order to “experience a better life” is a tantalizing dream for many people.  In our old locations, we often encounter difficult challenges or negative baggage and wish to leave those behind or just start anew.  We want to relocate to a place where we can expect the best, put forth our best and achieve the best for ourselves and families.

This book is about real-life experiences of Blacks who have moved in search of a better life.  Individuals from all walks of life have shared their dreams and reasons for moving.  But what makes a move to this city so special?  Does Atlanta off the best for Blacks?  Did a move to this city make their dream to “experience a better life” a reality or an illusion?  Did they use some new found wisdom to navigate around the potholes of failure?  Were they able to leave behind problems or encounter new ones?  Did they get rid of the old baggage and wear a new suit of armor laden with beacons that attracted success?  Or, was there some “secret” strategy they used to achieve success in a new location?

HOT-lanta reveals intriguing real-life stories by Blacks from every state in the country and 21 different countries.  Through a collection of interviews, this book shares lessons learned, tears shed, joys celebrated, struggles unforeseen and bittersweet memories about relocating in search of a better life.  At the end of each interview is a nugget of wisdom to help you focus on that person’s message and the lesson learned.  And the last chapter of this book contains inspiring quotations brimming with words of wisdom on how to prepare for the best in order to achieve the best in life.
